Sweet and sour poached eggs in tomato sauce is a dish my whole family loves, especially when we add Heinz tomato sauce. The resulting poached eggs have a bright red color and a rich, savory tomato flavor that's both sweet and sour and makes them a perfect accompaniment to rice.

Steps for making sweet and sour poached eggs with tomato sauce

Prepare ingredients

Add 30 grams of Heinz tomato sauce to the bowl. It is made from non-GMO tomatoes, contains no preservatives or colorings, is rich in natural lycopene, and has a bright red color and a rich tomato flavor.

Add 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and half a bowl of water, and stir well.

Heat oil in a pan, crack in an egg, and fry until one side is set, then flip and fry the other side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate. (I used an egg mold to make the fried egg rounder and look nicer, but you can also fry it directly in a frying pan.)

Pour the prepared tomato sweet and sour sauce into a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the fried eggs and coat each egg with the sauce. Once the sauce has thickened, turn off the heat and remove from the pot (don't reduce the sauce too much; leaving some sauce makes it taste better).

Place it on a plate, sprinkle with white sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and it's ready to serve! The poached egg soup made with Heinz tomato sauce is bright red and has a rich tomato flavor. The poached egg, soaked in the sauce, is sweet and sour and delicious. It's so good!
