I've recently rewatched "Let's Go Now," and every time I see Jia Bing's Northeastern Chinese dishes, my mouth waters! 🤤 The steaming wok hei (wok aroma), the tender ribs, the crunchy potatoes, the green beans soaked in meat juices, served with a big bowl of rice—it's so delicious it'll make the neighbor's kids cry! 🥲 The recipe is actually very simple; you could make it if you had the guts! 👇
Materials
Braised pork ribs, potatoes, and green beans 🥘 So delicious you'll want to lick the bottom of the pot! ️ Recipe steps

🥘 Ingredients: • 400g pork ribs (soaked in water to remove blood) • 300g green beans • 1 large potato • Scallions, ginger, garlic, dried chili peppers, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves • Prepare some minced garlic for last 🥣 Seasoning: 1 tablespoon soybean paste + 2 tablespoons light soy sauce + 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce + 1 tablespoon oyster sauce + 1 small handful of rock sugar

🔥 Fragrant Rice Ball Recipe: 1️⃣ Place pork ribs in a pot of cold water with ginger slices and a splash of cooking wine. Bring to a boil and then remove the ribs.

2️⃣ Heat oil in a pan, add potatoes and green beans and stir-fry for about 5 minutes, then remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Add more oil to the pan, then stir-fry the ribs until the edges are slightly browned.

4. Sauté scallions, ginger, garlic, dried chili peppers, star anise, bay leaves, and cinnamon until fragrant.

5⃣️ Add the previously prepared sauce, stir-fry evenly to coat the ingredients.

6⃣️ Pour boiling water over the ribs to cover them! Cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.

7⃣️ When the time is up, add potatoes and green beans, cover and simmer for another 15 minutes.

8⃣️ Finally, uncover and reduce the sauce over high heat. Before turning off the heat, sprinkle with minced raw garlic and stir for extra flavor 😎

😘Friendly reminder: Make sure to cook enough rice before making this dish, otherwise you'll feel really unsatisfied eating it at the end (don't ask me how I know 🤣).
