Sweet and Sour Chicken with Heinz Tomato Sauce π Recipe Steps

Prepare the chicken: Pound the chicken breast with the back of a knife to tenderize it, then cut it into small pieces.

Marinate the meat: Add 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/2 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of white pepper powder, mix well and marinate for 10 minutes.

Soul sauce: In a bowl, mix Heinz tomato sauce, sugar, white vinegar, cornstarch, and water, and stir well.

The main flavor base of the soul sauce is this tomato sauce.

Cut the cherry tomatoes in half, dice the green bell pepper, and chop some cilantro and scallions. Prepare minced garlic as well.

Pour a little oil into a frying pan and pan-fry the chicken pieces over medium heat until golden brown on both sides and cooked through (or deep-fry quickly for a crispier texture). Set aside.

Leave some oil in the pan, sautΓ© minced garlic until fragrant, then pour in the prepared tomato sauce and simmer over low heat until it bubbles and thickens.

Pour in the diced chicken and stir-fry quickly to coat it evenly with the sauce.

Add cherry tomatoes and green bell peppers and stir-fry quickly for about 10 seconds.

Finally, sprinkle with chopped cilantro and green onions, mix well, and it's ready to serve.

This dish makes perfect use of the sweet and sour base of Heinz tomato sauce, requiring no complicated seasonings.

Add pineapple chunks and you have sweet and sour chicken with pineapple; replace it with fried tofu and you have a vegetarian version of sweet and sour tofu.

Lazy person's way to eat: Pan-fried chicken cutlets or fish fillets can be dipped directly in Heinz tomato sauce, super refreshing!

Or use it directly: spread it on steamed buns or bread slices (as a substitute for jam), or mix it into mashed potatoes (to add a sweet and sour flavor).
